New Delhi: Kia India has expanded its electric vehicle portfolio with the launch of the Kia Syros EV, introducing innovative ownership benefits aimed at making EV adoption more accessible. Alongside competitive pricing, the company has rolled out an Assured Buyback Programme and a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option to reduce the initial purchase cost and improve long-term ownership value.
The Syros EV is available with two battery pack options—a 42 kWh version offering a claimed driving range of 443 km, and a 51.4 kWh battery delivering up to 526 km on a single charge (MIDC). Both variants support 100 kW DC fast charging, enabling the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in around 39 minutes under suitable conditions.
Kia has priced the Syros EV from ₹13.49 lakh (ex-showroom), while customers opting for the Battery-as-a-Service programme can purchase the vehicle at a significantly lower upfront price, with the battery cost paid separately through a usage-based plan. This approach is designed to make electric mobility more affordable for first-time EV buyers.
A key highlight is Kia’s Assured Buyback Scheme, which offers an introductory resale value of up to 80% after three years, subject to applicable terms and conditions. The company has also announced a 15-year high-voltage battery warranty, reinforcing confidence in battery durability and ownership costs.
The Syros EV features a technology-rich cabin with connected car features, advanced driver assistance and modern safety equipment, positioning it as a strong contender in India’s fast-growing compact electric SUV segment. It will compete with models such as the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV 3XO EV.
